Ben Jordan
Senior Director, Environmental Policy, The Coca Cola Company
Ben R. Jordan is a proven supply chain leader with over 25 years’ experience driving complex business change. He currently works as Senior Director of Environmental Policy for The Coca-Cola Company. Now in his 26th year at Coca-Cola, Ben has worked in both its North American and global organizations, traveling in over 45 countries to drive programs across Coca-Cola’s vast global supply chain. Ben has held roles focused on both internal operational issues and relationship-building with key stakeholders. In his current role, he has responsibilities for leading global sustainability programs in Climate and Packaging.
Ben’s most recent work includes helping facilitate implementation of The Coca-Cola Company’s “World Without Waste” program, a global vision for 2030 on sustainable packaging. For the last 3 years, he has been a principal spokesperson for this program, with numerous external speaking and media engagements.
Ben has participated actively in Coca-Cola’s involvement with a number of leading environmental organizations, including Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), the Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (CERES), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC). Currently, Ben participates on the Environmental Committee of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), Steering Committees of The Ocean’s Conservancy’s Trash Free Seas Alliance (TFSA) and World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Plastic Action Partnership, the Board of Trustees of The Nature Conservancy in Georgia and Advisory Board of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.
Ben has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as an Educational Counselor for MIT, interviewing prospective undergraduate students from the Atlanta area. He has a Ph.D. in Public Policy (Environmental Policy specialty) from Georgia Tech, where he sits on an Arts Advisory Board. Ben is an adjunct instructor in the Environmental Science program at Emory University and teaches a course on “Green Business” each spring.
Ben lives in Decatur, Georgia, with his wife, Mary Beth, and sons, Jack (16) and Parker (14), where he served as a founding member of the City of Decatur Environmental Sustainability Board, helping drive efforts in one of metro Atlanta’s most progressive municipalities. He is an active member at All Saints Episcopal (an Episcopal parish in the City of Atlanta) and Druid Hills Golf Club.
Ben's childhood on a peach farm in rural Georgia led to his interest in conservation and his career in the environmental field.
