Dr. Jeff Mullen
Associate Professor, Agricultural and Applied Economics, University of Georgia
Dr. Mullen received his PhD. from Virginia Tech in 1999 and joined the faculty of the University of Georgia (UGA) in July of 2000. At UGA, he has focused his research on the interface between agricultural production and the environment, with particular emphasis on water resources. His work includes analyses of how agricultural water demand responds to public policy, climatic uncertainty, technology adoption, water scarcity, and land values. He also has extensive experience with non-market valuation in the context of environmental and human health risks.

Dr. Mullen has recently begun to focus on energy and greenhouse gas emissions. He has published analyses of policy at the national and state level. His work with Drawdown Georgia, where he currently leads the Food and Agriculture workgroup, introduced him to the potential for composting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to his research, Dr. Mullen teaches a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate courses, including environmental economics, quantitative methods, econometrics, production economics, energy economics, and water resource economics.
